Terms and Conditions
1. Payments
- A 50% non-refundable deposit in US Dollars is required at the time of booking to confirm your registration.
- Full payment must be made prior to the start of the itinerary. In Iquitos, cash payments may be made in U.S. dollars (US$) or Peruvian soles, at the applicable exchange rate on the day of payment. Cash payments in U.S. dollars (US$) must be made with new bills, free of marks, tears, wrinkles, graffiti, or stains, as banks and exchange offices in Peru are strict regarding the quality of notes and may reject damaged bills. Amazon Jungle Retreat reserves the right to refuse any bills that do not meet this standard.
- The Participant acknowledges and accepts that any bank fees, transfer charges, or any fees applied by the sending bank, intermediary banks, or the recipient bank will be deducted from the transferred amount. Consequently, the Participant is responsible for ensuring that the net amount received in the account of Tahuayo Amazon Journeys S.A.C. and corresponds to the total amount required.
- Once the payment has been made, the Participant must send the transaction proof via email or WhatsApp for verification and record-keeping purposes. The payment date will only be recognized as the date on which Tahuayo Amazon Journeys S.A.C. confirms receipt of the net credited amount.
2. Cancellation
If the reservation is cancelled, a personal credit will be issued that can be used toward any future retreat at Amazon Jungle Retreat (or any affiliated center) within the next 2 years. The amount of the credit will depend on the timing of the cancellation notice, as outlined in the Terms & Conditions.
3. Health & Safety Requirements
- By applying, you confirm that all information provided in your application form is true, complete, and accurate.
- You agree to disclose all medical conditions, mental health history, allergies, and medications (including SSRIs, MAOIs, stimulants, recreational substances, and herbal supplements).
- The retreat staff reserves the right to request clarification, additional documents, or medical clearance before acceptance.
- You understand that failure to disclose medications or health conditions may result in refusal of participation for safety reasons.
4. Medical & Psychological Suitability
- Participation is not recommended for individuals with certain medical or psychological conditions, including but not limited to: heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, suicidal ideation, or severe psychiatric instability.
- The retreat team may deny participation if they determine that Ayahuasca is not appropriate or safe for you.
5. Medication Restrictions
- You agree to follow all instructions regarding the discontinuation of contraindicated medications, under medical supervision where required.
- You understand that some medications cannot be stopped abruptly and may require a supervised taper.
- You acknowledge that you must inform the retreat of any changes in medications prior to arrival.
6. Dietary & Lifestyle Preparation
- You agree to follow the recommended preparation guidelines (“dieta”), including dietary restrictions, abstaining from alcohol, recreational drugs, sexual activity, and other contraindicated substances before the retreat.
- You understand that non-compliance may impact your safety and may result in removal from ceremonies.
7. Personal Responsibility
- You acknowledge that Ayahuasca is a powerful traditional medicine that can produce intense physical, emotional, and psychological effects.
- You accept full responsibility for your decision to participate and for the experiences that may arise during and after the retreat.
- You understand that integration support is recommended and may be necessary after the retreat.
8. On-Site Safety & Conduct
- You agree to follow all guidance provided by facilitators, shamans, and staff during ceremonies and throughout the retreat.
- Disruptive, unsafe, disrespectful, or aggressive behavior may result in removal from activities or from the retreat without refund.
- You agree not to leave ceremonial or retreat areas without permission during sessions.
9. Confidentiality & Privacy
- All personal information, including health data, is kept confidential and used solely for safety screening and retreat participation.
- You agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of other participants and their experiences.
10. Acceptance & Withdrawal
- Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the retreat.
- The retreat may decline participation at any time prior to arrival if safety concerns arise.
- You may withdraw your application at any time before the retreat start date, subject to the retreat’s cancellation policy.
11. Assumption of Risk
- You acknowledge that participation involves inherent risks, including physical discomfort, emotional difficulty, and unpredictable psychological reactions.
- You voluntarily accept all risks associated with participation in Ayahuasca ceremonies and related activities.
12. Agreement
By submitting your application, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.
- You agree to comply with all safety requirements and guidelines.
- You accept full responsibility for your participation in the retreat.
