Sacred Land & Commitment
Collaborating with Jerusalén
Our partnership with the Achuar community of Jerusalén, located near the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo National Reserve, is built on mutual respect and shared goals. We support their efforts to sustain their village of 50–90 souls through economic opportunities, such as employing local artisans to create ceremonial crafts and hiring community members as guides and facilitators. By providing training and resources, we empower Jerusalén to preserve their cultural practices while benefiting from the retreat’s presence. This collaboration, guided by Sergio, son of Don Ramón Arahuanaza, strengthens the community’s role as stewards of the Amazon.

Protecting the Amazon’s Biodiversity
In alliance with Jerusalén’s guardianship of the Área de Conservación Regional Comunal Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo, we actively protect the rainforest near the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo National Reserve. Our initiatives include reforestation projects, planting native species to restore habitats for wildlife, such as jaguars, primates, and rare birds. Partnering with Hector Vezirian, owner of Amazon Explorer, whose work with the NGO Jaguar Matsés Connection champions wildlife preservation, we fund and maintain medicinal gardens that support both ecological balance and traditional healing practices.

Sustainable Practices for the Selva
We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact through sustainable practices. Our retreat, nestled near the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo National Reserve, uses eco-friendly materials for construction, relies on solar energy, and implements waste reduction systems. We source local, plant-based ingredients for dieta meals, supporting Jerusalén’s agricultural traditions while reducing our carbon footprint. These efforts ensure the selva’s vitality remains intact for future generations.

Our Collaborative Efforts
- Community Support: Providing jobs and training to Jerusalén members, fostering economic and cultural resilience.
- Wildlife Protection: Partnering with Hector Vezirian to fund conservation projects, including jaguar habitat preservation.
- Reforestation: Planting native trees to restore ecosystems and support biodiversity in the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo region.
- Sustainable Operations: Using renewable energy and local resources to honor the selva’s natural balance.
